Januar 1752 und ging bis 1759, dem Jahr, in dem Karl von Bourbon nach dem Tod des spanischen K\u00f6nigs das K\u00f6nigreich Neapel verlie\u00df, um sich Madrid anzuschlie\u00dfen, z\u00fcgig voran. Nach der Abreise von Karl verlangsamten sich die Bauarbeiten am Neuen Palast, wie der Palast damals genannt wurde, erheblich, so dass er bei Luigi Vanvitellis Tod im Jahr 1773 noch lange nicht fertig gestellt war. Carlo Vanvitelli, der Sohn von Luigi, und sp\u00e4ter auch andere Architekten, die in der Schule von Vanvitelli ausgebildet worden waren, vollendeten diese grandiose k\u00f6nigliche Residenz im
